Swipey.AI is the only AI companion app I’ve tested that imports its discovery mechanic from a dating app. You swipe right on character profiles, get a “match,” start chatting. The marketing language is dating-app-coded. “Become A Verified Model,” “Built for Studios & Talent Managers,” “Let Your AI Twin Work for You.” It’s a clear bet that the AI companion niche needs a different on-ramp than the existing “browse a character grid, click one, type” pattern.

I spent four days testing it from an EU checkout in May 2026. The swipe-to-discover mechanic is fun for the first hour. After that, the actual conversation quality and pricing structure decide whether the novelty has any staying power. Here’s what I found.

One feature is worth flagging upfront: Swipey is the first app in my audited catalog where consumer-side characters include AI copies of real verified models who uploaded their own likeness and earn revenue share. Premium voices are recorded by these models. I haven’t found this combination in any other AI companion app I’ve tested, and it adds a genuine quality dimension that pure-synthetic competitors can’t match.

ℹ️ About this review

I tested Swipey.AI from May 14-18, 2026. Created a free account, purchased a 1-month Premium subscription ($20.10), ran the same scenarios I use across the audited category, and verified pricing at vendor checkout from EU IP. I did not run multi-week memory tests, and I did not test the Studio Accounts B2B side beyond reading the public marketing. On encryption: I read Swipey’s published privacy policy and triangulated against third-party reviews. Sources disagree on specifics. I did not commission an independent security audit. Operator entity: INVAI LTD, Company ID HE 458964, Agios Alexiou 1, Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus. Affiliate distribution via CrakRevenue.

🔄 What changed since our last check (May 2026 to July 2026)

We bought a month of Premium from an EU IP and retested. The pricing held up; the media economics did not.

Steps to cancel Not measured 10, through two surveys, an emotional retention screen, a journey summary and a 100-Heart offer New finding, and the longest cancellation flow in our catalogue
Memory after returning Not tested Mixed: it recalled a pet name but gave the wrong profession, answering doctor where we had said electrician New finding, counts against
Refund terms 14 days per the terms Terms section 10.4 states all purchases are final and non-refundable, while the help FAQ describes case-by-case refunds The vendor contradicts itself
Operator INVAI LTD, Cyprus INVAI LTD, registration HE 458964, Strovolos, Nicosia Confirmed with registration number
Editor rating 8.0 6.3 Lowered

This is the largest drop in our August 2026 re-scoring, and it comes almost entirely from one number: what a photo costs.

What Swipey.AI actually is

Strip the marketing and Swipey.AI is three products bolted together:

  • Consumer AI companion. 240+ characters across realistic and animated styles, text chat, voice calls, image generation, video generation. The thing you sign up for.
  • Creator platform (“AI Twin”). Verified models can upload their likeness, have an AI version of themselves earn money on the platform. Revenue share to model.
  • Studio Accounts. Talent managers can onboard multiple models, automate content generation, manage payouts from a dashboard. Pure B2B.

This three-sided structure matters for one reason: it’s why the consumer pricing is so token-heavy. Hearts (the in-app currency) flow upward to creators and Studio operators. Every premium voice message, generated image, or “exclusive content” unlock burns Hearts the consumer paid for. The token economy isn’t a billing quirk. It’s the business model.

⚠️ Advertised vs verified (July 2026 retest)

Every row below was checked on a paid account, not read off the marketing page.

What Swipey shows you What we measured The gap
Plan modal showing 50, 60 and 80 percent off No renewal amount is stated anywhere in the flow You can see the discount but not what you will pay when it ends
Privacy marketing: encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold or shared The Terms permit manual review of flagged chats and take a transferable, sublicensable licence over user content The marketing line and the contract do not describe the same arrangement
Terms section 10.4: all purchases final and non-refundable The help FAQ describes case-by-case refunds Two live documents disagree on whether refunds exist
Uncensored positioning Explicit requests passed, then surfaced a hidden media paywall NSFW is not blocked here, it is monetised
€19.99 at checkout $23.46 reached the card, billed as Swipey ai Currency conversion, not a vendor charge
Swipey.AI photo unlock priced at 25 Hearts
Swipey.AI’s photo unlock screen on a paid account, 26 July 2026: 25 Hearts, which is about five euros at the entry pack rate. An earlier version of this review put the cost at 8 to 20 Hearts.

Verified pricing (re-checked July 26, 2026)

This is where Swipey.AI gets confusing. There are two parallel cost ladders.

Hearts token packs (one-time purchases)

Pack List price Sale price Per-Heart cost
50 Hearts $29.99 $9.99 $0.200
220 Hearts $59.99 $34.99 $0.159
520 Hearts (Best Value) $134.99 $49.99 $0.096
1,150 Hearts $289.99 $99.99 $0.087
2,760 Hearts $699.99 $209.99 $0.076

Premium subscription

Plan Per-day display Monthly equivalent Upfront charge Bonus Hearts
1 Month $0.67/day $20.10 $20.10 +200
3 Months (-60%) $0.53/day $15.90 $47.70 +200
12 Months (-80%, “Best Value”) $0.27/day $8.10 $98.55 +600
⚠️ The per-day display is a known trap

$0.27/day for the annual plan sounds smaller than $8.10/month, which sounds smaller than $98.55 upfront. They’re the same number in three frames. The “60%” and “80%” discount badges are calculated against the monthly rate, not against any sustained list price. They exist to make the annual upfront feel like a bargain. Verified at EU checkout May 18, 2026: cancelling within 14 days is possible per their terms, but the refund flow requires support contact (no self-serve cancel-and-refund from the dashboard during the trial window).

The Hearts trap, specifically

💡 What Hearts actually cost, in money

Measured on a paid account on 26 July 2026. Converted at the entry pack rate of 50 Hearts for €9.99, which is 20 cents a Heart.

Action Hearts Cost at the entry pack What the 200-Heart monthly bonus covers
Photo unlock 25 about €5.00 8 photos
Voice message 3 about €0.60 66 messages
Voice call 20 a minute about €4.00 a minute 10 minutes
Video, 5 seconds 50 about €10.00 4 clips
Make Me Move, 10 seconds 80 about €16.00 2 clips

Buying in bulk lowers the rate: the 2,760-Heart pack works out to about 7.6 cents a Heart, which brings a photo down to roughly €1.90. But at the entry pack, where most people start, a single photo costs about five euros.

For context across the twelve apps we tested in 2026, a generated image costs around 3 cents on SecretDesires.AI, about 20 cents across the DreamAI SRL brands, and about 90 cents on JustPorn.ai. Swipey is the most expensive place to generate media in our catalogue, by a wide margin, while carrying one of the higher subscription prices.

The Premium subscription gives you “unlimited chat” (messages don’t burn Hearts). But Premium does not give you unlimited premium voice messages, image generation, video generation, or character-specific “Fun Club” unlocks. Those still cost Hearts even after you’ve paid $20.10/month.

Concretely: I generated 12 images during testing on Premium. The unlock screen prices a photo at 25 Hearts, measured on a paid account on 26 July 2026. At the entry pack rate of 50 Hearts for €9.99 that is about five euros a picture. At 25 Hearts each, the 200 bonus Hearts included with monthly Premium cover eight photos, not the fifteen an earlier version of this review reported. After that, you’re back at the token packs. The 50-Hearts pack at $9.99 lasts maybe one session if you’re generating media.

This isn’t unique to Swipey. DreamGF, Candy.AI, and most NSFW AI companion apps use a token economy on top of subscriptions. But Swipey is unusual in how aggressively the in-app UI surfaces the Hearts balance and the “Spin the Wheel” Premium-only mini-game that drops tokens between 20 and 1,000. The gamification is on the consumer-facing side, not just the creator side.

Where Swipey.AI works

Customization is unusually detailed. Body type, hair, eyes, age, nationality, profession, hobbies, relationship dynamic, voice (with premium voices recorded by verified models). Granular enough that I built a character that matched my own writing prompt closer than I’ve managed on Candy.AI or DreamGF. Other reviewers consistently flag this as a strength, and I agree with that read.

NSFW handling is consistent. The AI doesn’t break character to insert moral disclaimers, doesn’t refuse common scenarios at random, doesn’t soft-block mid-conversation. This is a low bar in 2026, but several mainstream-leaning apps still fail it. Swipey clears it.

Voice calls are competently implemented. Premium voices recorded by verified models sound natural in 30-second exchanges. Longer voice sessions drift toward the standard TTS feel, but the entry experience is above average.

Mobile apps work. Native iOS + Android in addition to web. Multi-language UI. Not all competitors offer this. Many are web-only.

💡 If you sign up

Skip the monthly Premium. Either buy the 50-Hearts pack ($9.99) to test for one session, or commit to the 12-month plan ($98.55 upfront) for the lowest per-month rate. The 1-month and 3-month plans are pricing dead zones. You pay near-monthly rates without the bonus Hearts that make the annual plan workable.

Where it doesn’t work

Privacy policy is vague on specifics. It mentions “encryption, limited employee access, and regular security testing” without naming algorithms or scope. Independent reviews report client-side AES-256 encryption with TLS 1.3 transport, but this isn’t documented in the user-facing policy itself. What IS documented in their own policy: chats and personal data are shared with staff, service providers, and analytics teams; chat logs may be retained for AI training unless you opt out. Compare to Secrets.AI which explicitly markets E2E encryption and training opt-out as user-facing features, and the transparency gap remains visible.

Chat depth is mid-tier. The conversations are flirty and responsive. They are not emotionally deep. Multiple reviewers describe the chat experience as “engaging but shallow.” After four days of testing, I agree. If you want a companion that remembers your dog’s name three weeks later and references it naturally, Swipey.AI is not that app. If you want a swipe-to-flirt scenario, it is.

Billing descriptor is “swipey.ai”. On your bank statement. For users who care about discretion (a non-trivial portion of this audience), this is a known issue with this app and a small number of others. Candy.AI uses “EVERAI LIMITED” which is similarly traceable; some apps use neutral descriptors.

Token-on-top pricing creates friction for media-heavy users. Premium does not include unlimited image generation. The friction is real but not unique in the category — DreamGF family and Joi use the same structure (Joi’s video viewing cost runs up to 1900 Neurons, which is harsher than Swipey’s per-action rates).

The Studios side (briefly)

Swipey is unusual in publicly marketing a B2B Studio Account product alongside the consumer app. The pitch: talent managers upload multiple model profiles, the platform creates AI twins, the AI twins generate content and chat with consumers, the Studio earns from consumer Hearts spending. Bulk onboarding, payout dashboard, revenue analytics.

I did not test this side. I’ll note that this is the same revenue-extraction model that has driven friction in the original-creator space on OnlyFans and similar platforms, the creator brand becomes a license for an AI workflow that the creator may or may not actively manage. Whether that’s good or bad depends on which side of the transaction you’re on. For consumers, it explains why the Hearts economy is so aggressively monetized: the platform needs Hearts to flow to keep the Studios side viable.

🚩 Before you subscribe: what the checkout does not spell out
  • The renewal amount is never stated. The plan modal advertises discounts of 50, 60 and 80 percent, but nothing in the flow tells you what the plan costs when those end.
  • A photo costs 25 Hearts, about five euros at the entry pack. The 200 bonus Hearts that come with a monthly subscription cover eight of them.
  • A voice call costs 20 Hearts a minute, roughly four euros, and a ten-second Make Me Move clip costs 80 Hearts, about sixteen euros.
  • The refund position is contradictory. Terms section 10.4 says all purchases are final and non-refundable; the help FAQ says refunds are considered case by case. Both are published.
  • The privacy marketing and the Terms disagree. The site says data is never sold or shared; the Terms allow manual review of flagged chats and take a transferable, sublicensable licence over content you create.
  • Cancelling takes ten steps, through two separate surveys, an emotional retention screen, a summary of your journey and a 100-Heart offer. That is the longest cancellation flow across the twelve apps we tested, against an average closer to seven.
  • Memory was unreliable. On returning to a chat the character recalled our pet’s name but gave the wrong profession.
Swipey.AI cancellation screen offering 100 Hearts to stay
Step five of Swipey.AI’s ten-step cancellation flow, 26 July 2026, offering 100 Hearts to stay. Two surveys, an emotional retention screen and a journey summary come before the final confirmation.

Who Swipey.AI is for

  • Curious users: Fit. The swipe-to-discover mechanic is engaging for the first few hours. The free tier is enough to verify whether you like it before paying.
  • Customization-focused users: Fit. The character builder is among the most detailed in the category.
  • NSFW roleplay users: Fit, with caveats. Strong NSFW handling. Plan for Hearts spending on media generation.
  • Mobile-first users: Fit. Native apps actually work, not just mobile-responsive web.
  • Users who want emotional depth: Not a fit. Look at Nomi.AI or Replika.
  • Privacy-sensitive users: Not a fit. See Secrets.AI for documented E2E encryption.
  • Users on tight budgets: Marginal. The free tier is testable. Annual plan is the only price point that doesn’t punish you.
🎯 Bottom Line

Swipey.AI is a competent AI companion with a memorable on-ramp (swipe-to-discover), unusual breadth (AI Twins of real models), and a token economy that requires budget planning. The customization is the most granular in my audited catalog. The NSFW handling is consistent. The chat depth is mid-tier (not at the level of dedicated emotional AI like Nomi). The pricing is honest in absolute terms but obscured by per-day display tricks. If you commit, commit to the annual plan or stick to the free tier. The middle plans are pricing dead zones.

📊 Why this rating changed: 8.0 to 6.3

This is the largest drop across the twelve apps we re-scored in August 2026, and it comes down mostly to one measurement.

  • Pricing & Value, 3.8 to 1.5. This review previously put a photo at 8 to 20 Hearts. On the unlock screen it is 25, which at the entry pack rate is about five euros a picture. The 200 bonus Hearts included with a monthly subscription therefore cover eight photos, not the fifteen we published. Set against a €19.99 monthly price, that makes Swipey the most expensive place to generate media in our catalogue while charging near the top of it. On top of that: the renewal amount is never disclosed, the Terms and the help FAQ contradict each other on refunds, and cancelling takes ten steps.
  • Media Capabilities, 4.1 to 3.0. Generation itself worked, with no technical failures across our attempts and images arriving in five to ten seconds. The score falls on capacity rather than quality: at 50 Hearts for five seconds of video and 80 for a ten-second clip, the monthly bonus covers two to four videos.
  • Chat Experience, 3.7 to 3.5. Responses are quick and stay in character, but a request for four short points came back as a paragraph, flirtatious motifs repeat, and memory after re-entry was mixed: the pet name was right, the profession was wrong.
  • Character Diversity, 3.9 to 3.5 and Customization to 3.5. The creator is detailed but entirely preset-driven, with no free-text backstory or relationship setup of the kind SecretDesires.AI and SpicyChat.AI offer.

A disclosure that belongs here. We are in commercial discussions with Swipey.AI about an affiliate arrangement, and this page carries affiliate links. This rating was produced from the same measurements applied to every other app in the catalogue, and it is the lowest we have published. If that combination is useful to you as a reader, it is the only thing an affiliate disclosure is actually for.

Our full scoring system is documented in the review methodology.

The verdict

I’d recommend Swipey.AI to someone who specifically wants the swipe-to-discover mechanic, who values granular customization, and who plans to manage their Hearts budget actively. I’d recommend against it for users who prioritize emotional depth, privacy, or who don’t want to think about tokens at all on top of a subscription.

It earns 8.0/10 on my testing. The category has both better (Secrets.AI for privacy, OurDream.AI for annual pricing) and comparable options (Joi, the DreamAI family). Swipey edges most direct competitors on customization depth, mobile coverage, and the AI Twins feature, which I haven’t found in any other app I’ve audited.

Pricing and features change in this category every 30-60 days.

Methodology and update log

📝 What this review verified and what it did not

Prices, Hearts costs per action, media behaviour, the cancellation flow and the card settlement amount were measured on a paid Premium account bought from an EU IP on 26 July 2026 and cancelled the same session. The operator details come from the vendor’s own Terms and footer.

What this review has not verified: what the plan actually renews at, since we cancelled before renewal and the amount is not disclosed in the flow; whether the help FAQ’s case-by-case refund position or the Terms’ non-refundable clause is applied in practice; and long-term memory across days, since our re-entry check did not record the interval between sessions.

📝 Update log

Documented changes to this review and the dates they were verified.

  • August 23, 2026. Hands-on retest on a paid account bought from an EU IP on 26 July 2026. Corrected the photo price from the 8 to 20 Hearts this review previously published to the 25 Hearts shown on the unlock screen, which halves what the monthly bonus covers. Measured voice at 3 Hearts a message and 20 a minute for calls, video at 50 Hearts for five seconds and 80 for a ten-second Make Me Move clip. Recorded that the plan modal advertises discounts without stating the renewal amount, that Terms section 10.4 and the help FAQ contradict each other on refunds, that the privacy marketing and the Terms describe different arrangements, and that cancelling takes ten steps. Memory after re-entry was mixed. Added the operator registration number, HE 458964. Editor rating lowered from 8.0 to 6.3, the largest drop in this round.

Verified by: Derek Leon · Method: one month of Premium purchased and cancelled on 26 July 2026 from an EU IP with EUR billing. Hearts costs were read on the unlock screens and the balance, and the settlement amount on the bank statement.

I’ve re-audited it since: this review was last verified on a paid account on 26 July 2026.

🛡️ Editorial Transparency

This review is based on direct testing of Swipey.AI on a paid Premium account. Prices, Hearts costs per action, media behaviour, the ten-step cancellation flow and the card settlement amount were measured on 26 July 2026 from an EU IP. We are in commercial discussions with this vendor about an affiliate arrangement, and this rating is the lowest in our catalogue.

FAQ

How much does Swipey.AI cost?
Measured at the checkout on 26 July 2026 from an EU IP: €19.99 for one month with 200 bonus Hearts, €47.99 for three months with 200, or €95.99 for twelve months with 600. The card was debited $23.46 after conversion. The plan modal advertises discounts of 50, 60 and 80 percent but does not state what the plan renews at.
What does a photo cost on Swipey.AI?
25 Hearts, measured on the unlock screen. At the entry pack rate of 50 Hearts for €9.99 that is about five euros a photo, and the 200 bonus Hearts included with a monthly subscription cover eight. Buying the largest pack brings it down to roughly €1.90. For comparison across the twelve apps we tested, an image costs about 3 cents on SecretDesires.AI and about 20 cents across the DreamAI SRL brands.
What do voice and video cost?
A voice message costs 3 Hearts, about 60 cents. A voice call costs 20 Hearts a minute, roughly four euros. Video runs 50 Hearts for five seconds, about ten euros, and a ten-second Make Me Move clip costs 80 Hearts, about sixteen. Generation itself worked reliably, with no technical failures across our attempts.
Can you get a refund from Swipey.AI?
The vendor publishes two positions at once. Terms section 10.4 states that all purchases are final and non-refundable. The help FAQ describes refunds considered case by case. Both were live in July 2026, and we did not test which one a support agent applies.
How hard is it to cancel?
Ten steps in our July 2026 test, through two separate surveys, an emotional retention screen, a summary of your journey with the character and a 100-Heart offer, with repeated confirmations. That was the longest cancellation flow across the twelve apps we tested. Auto-renewal switched off and access ran to the end of the paid period.
Who operates Swipey.AI?
INVAI LTD, registration HE 458964, at Strovolou 140, Strovolos, 2042 Nicosia, Cyprus. The site markets data as encrypted in transit and at rest and never sold or shared, while the Terms permit manual review of flagged chats and take a transferable, sublicensable licence over user content.
